ABBIEROAD SCI Standing, Walking & Independence
You were given a second chance at life. Let's make sure you are living it!
You left rehab stronger than you came in. But somewhere between discharge and right now, the progress stalled and no one could tell you why.
It is not because you stopped working.
It is because most rehab plans are built around what is easy to prescribe, not what actually drives long-term results for a spinal cord injury. So people end up stretching without any movement carryover, strengthening muscles that already work, training mostly in sitting while hoping walking somehow improves, and being handed equipment that was never actually explained.
That gap between where you are and where you know you could be is exactly where I work.
Your level of injury does not define your future.
Now What?
If you have a spinal cord injury and you're ready to get stronger, not just manage, you're in the right place.
Most people leave inpatient rehab with strength but no plan. No one tells you what to do next, why it matters, or how to keep building. You plateau. You're told this is as good as it gets.
It's not.

Who is this program for?
This program is build for people who refuse to settle
You're the right fit if:
-
You have a spinal cord injury (complete or incomplete, para or quad)
-
You've been through inpatient or outpatient rehab — and you want more
-
Your current program feels like maintenance, not progress
-
You want to stand, walk, move, and live with more independence
-
You're willing to put in the work — every day
You don't need to be close to walking. You need to be willing to build.
What do I do?
SCI-Specific Strength Coaching. Remotely. Relentlessly.
I'm Abbie Ruppel, a board-certified neurologic clinical specialist. I work exclusively with people living with spinal cord injuries who want to build real, progressive strength, not just get through the day.
My program is 100% virtual (despite this stock photo of me working with a client). My clients are all over the world. And they get stronger.
Here's exactly how it works:

The Discovery Process
Apply to get started before offered a Discovery Call
Before anything else, we talk. And I ask a lot of questions! Where you are now, what you've tried, what's working, what's not, and where you actually want to go. I'm not just collecting your injury level and ASIA classification. I want to know your goals, your life, and what "better" looks like for you. This call is where I figure out if I can help you and if this program is the right fit.
Your SCI Assessment
Getting a close look at all your movements
Before your program begins, I get eyes on you moving. You'll send me videos of how you currently perform key movements, how you sit, how you transfer, how you stand or walk (if applicable), how your legs/arms are moving. So I can see exactly what your body is doing and have the foundational understanding required to design a program built for your nervous system, not a generic SCI template. This assessment is the difference between a program that gets you results and one that wastes your time.

Your Custom Digital Program
Bringing You into the App
Your program lives in a training app. Every workout is loaded week by week with demonstration videos so you know exactly how to do each exercise, what muscles you're targeting, and why it matters. You work at your own pace, in your own home, with whatever equipment you have. No gym required.
This isn't a one-size-fits-all PDF. Every single exercise is chosen specifically for your injury level, your strength, your compensations, and your goals. Week by week, the program evolves with you.
This isn't your average training
Most PT programs, even good ones, are limited by a 60-90minute appointment, a clinic schedule, and a therapist who may have never worked with an SCI patient before.
You do your exercises, you go home, and you wait until next week to find out if you did them right.
My program flips that model entirely.
You've done the hard part: you survived. Now it's time to build. If you're ready to stop plateauing and start progressing, let's talk.

Your Coach, Your Specialist, Your Biggest Advocate
I'm Abbie Ruppel. I have a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and a board certification in neurologic physical therapy (NCS), the highest clinical credential available in my specialty.
I built AbbieRoad SCI Standing, Walking & Independence because I kept watching people with SCI leave traditional rehab with a ceiling placed on their potential that had nothing to do with their actual capacity to improve.
I don't accept recovery ceilings. I don't cap your progress at what the system told you to expect. If it moves, we can make it stronger.
My clients come to me from all over the world not because I'm the only PT, but because SCI specialists who will push you are rare, and distance shouldn't be the reason you don't get the best shot at recovery.
Redefining SCI Recovery.
